Admissions & Entry

The Blackwood Fellowship offers nine months of unrestricted spatial research, private fabrication labs, and zero tuition. We accept twelve annual fellows based entirely on physical portfolio submissions.

ENTRY PARAMETERS

Physical Portfolios Only

We do not assess standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, or digital PDFs. Admission is decided solely on physical models and self-directed structural builds executed outside corporate client work.

Submission Details

Applicants must ship a physical crate containing scale models, material studies, or structural prototypes. All shipments must arrive at our upstate New York campus by the November 1st deadline.

We provide heavy industrial fabrication machinery, including CNC mills and gantry cranes, to execute full-scale physical interventions.

CRITICAL TIMELINE

Applications close November 1st. No late submissions are accepted.

We operate with absolute temporal and material rigor. The selection panel convenes on November 3rd; late packages remain unopened and are returned to sender at their own expense.
